Mobile Operations is Virtik's field application. It puts the same sites, incidents and permissions in the pockets of the people who work them: they record when they are on duty, walk patrols, capture evidence, respond to incidents and report their own safety, and the command center sees the result.

Getting in

A person signs in with their email and password, or with their organisation's single sign-on, and completes two-step verification where their role requires it. If they belong to more than one organisation they choose one. The application then checks that the organisation has Mobile access enabled; if not, it shows "Mobile access isn't available yet" and nothing else is reachable. See Mobile deployment.

There is no tab bar. A menu lists the modules the person is allowed to use, and a module they cannot use is hidden; reaching one directly shows "Not available to you".

What a field user can do

Duty and attendance. Time In, Break Start, Break End and Time Out, with a switch to include location where the organisation has location capture on. The screen shows the current state and recent events. Where the organisation has enabled Offline Mode, an event captured offline is queued and the screen says it will sync; otherwise it asks you to connect. If the organisation has not enabled time tracking, the screen says so. Automatic attendance from arriving at and leaving a site is built, but no on-device evidence exists for it.

Patrol. Start a patrol, work through its checkpoints, then finish or abort it. A checkpoint is verified by GPS or by scanning a QR tag. A photo can be added where the checkpoint requires one, and a duty-log entry at any time. NFC tags are not supported.

Evidence and reports. A field report takes a site, a category, a priority and a narrative, with photo and video attached. Capturing photo or video needs an internet connection.

Incident response. In Response a field user can acknowledge an incident and add a note; marking it active or resolved and closing it need a higher capability (to manage the incident) that an ordinary field officer does not have. In Detection the actions are acknowledge, confirm, dismiss as a false alarm and escalate, and need their own capability. These actions need a connection and are not queued if the device is offline. Live Operations is read-only on mobile.

Safety. I'm safe, Request assistance and Emergency. For the first two, location is sent only if the person turns the location switch on. Emergency always tries to include a position, subject to the device's permission. Emergency here raises a request inside Virtik; it does not call emergency services.

Spatial capture. A person can join a capture started in the Studio by entering its code, capture a site, or update an existing twin, taking photos or recording video. Coverage and overlap are not measured in this build, and the screen says so.

Devices

A device is registered automatically the first time a person signs in, as active. An administrator can see the organisation's devices and revoke one, with a reason; a revoked device is signed out the next time the application checks. An administrator can also set the organisation's mobile policy: offline mode, location capture and push notifications. Push notifications are not delivered in this release.

Preview in a browser

A browser preview of the application exists for development. It is not a product surface: it cannot register a device, store credentials securely, track location in the background, receive push notifications or read NFC, and offline durability cannot be verified in it.
